Darlene taught for Bell Ceramics for 12 years as a traveling seminar teacher. She now teaches specialty workshops, but on a limited basis. She continues to work with UFDC creating souvenir dolls for their special events.
Darlene has become internationally recognized for her work.
Awards received include the Golden Bell, Best of Show and Peoples Choice Awards, Emerald Award, the highest antique reproduction award given by the International Doll Makers Association (IDMA )Professional Millie, and Rolf Erickson Award.
Darlene has the distinction of being the first artist to receive both the Professional Millie and the Rolf Erickson Awards in the same competition.
